Saint Are Guaranteed Grand National Run After Latest Decs

2015 Grand National second Saint Are is guaranteed a run in this year's race after the latest round of declarations were made today. A total of nine horses were scratched from the National this morning which left 87 hopefuls still engaged for the world's most famous steeplechase.

The nine withdrawals ensured that Saint Are moved up to #38 on the list of entries and is now assured of a run at Aintree on Saturday afternoon with many punters fancying him to go one better this season. Carlingford Lough, Spring Heeled, Third Intention, Roi Du Mee and Turban were among the nine taken out of the race with at this stage but there are still a number of high profile horses set to miss out on a run.

2014 winner Pineau De Re still needs three more to come out of the race to get a run whilst Knock House, Bishops Road, Alvarado and Cause Of Causes are just four of the headline horses who are set to miss the race unless a number of the top 40 are withdrawn at the 48 hour stage on Thursday.

Cause Of Causes is the highest horse towards the head of the betting unlikely to get in with the Gordon Elliott trained horse a best price 20/1 to follow up his Cheltenham win with an Aintree success but at the moment he is only #50 on the list and in danger of missing out on his big day.
