There is no doubt whatsoever that AP McCoy is the most famous jockey in the sport, he has won more races than anyone else ever and continues to be a pioneer in the sport. McCoy has been the champion jockey in the UK a remarkable 16 times in-a-row and at the moment he shows no signs of slowing down. As well as being a big name in Horse Racing, McCoy has also managed to crossover to the mainstream sports world as he showed in 2010 when he was voted BBC Sports Personality Of The Year.
McCoy has won just about every race in the sport with his crowning glory coming in 2010 when he finally won the Grand National at Aintree on board Dont Push It. McCoy had been trying for years to win the National and he finally broke that curse to the delight of the fans and punters, it was an emotional win for McCoy and led to him being named BBC SPOTY the same year.
McCoy works as the retained rider for owner JP McManus and will more often than not be riding in the famous green and gold hoops for him as well as well known trainer Jonjo O'Neill. This was the combination that won with Dont Push It and it put to an end years of trying for the team to win the big race and they are sure to want to win again in the near future.
