King Johns Castle Out Of Aintree Grand National

The runner up in the 2008 Grand National, King Johns Castle has been withdrawn for this year’s race, following a further training setback. The grey who only made his seasonal reappearance last month when running unplaced in a hurdles race at Naas has suffered a torn tendon and there is insufficient time to get him right for Aintree.

It is a blow for the Arthur Moore yard and for owner, JP Mcmanus who had hoped that the 25-1 shot could have gone one better this year
