The 2009 National will be remembered for the shock 100/1 win of Mon Mome but back in third place was My Will ridden by Ruby Walsh, that was a great run for the Paul Nicholls trained horse and they have their sights set firmly on a win at Aintree in 2010. The Nicholls team still believe My Will is an ideal National type and he looked in great form on his seasonal reappearance at Down royal recently. The Listener won the JNWINE.com chase but My Will looked in good shape in second and is likely to be the main Aintree Grand National chance out of the Nicholls yard along with 2009 National 6th Big Fella Thanks.
Paul Nicholls is yet to win the Grand National as a trainer and he will have his sights firmly on Aintree with My Will in the hope of putting that record straight. My Will is not a regular winner but has grown into a proven stayer and jumps well as he proved in the 2009 National and the Gold Cup when he came in an excellent 5th place behind the likes of Kauto Star and Denman.
Paddy Power seem to quite fancy his chances of going two better than in 2009 and are currently offering 25/1 on My Will to win the 2010 Grand National in the ante-post betting. this could prove great value if My Will carries on his good early season form so he is certainly one to watch over the coming months.
