Niche Market Well Backed for 2010 National

Niche Market is a horse that is coming in for some considerable backing in the 2010 Grand National Odds after terrific performance on his last run. He took part in the Hennessy Gold Cup at Newbury at the end of November and ran absolute blinder to come in third, only the brilliant Denman and What A Friend could beat him. That performance has sparked talk of an Aintree run in April and on that form he needs to be taken very seriously.

Niche Market won the Irish Grand National in 2009 which confirms he is an excellent stayer, he will be trying to emulate the likes of Bobbyjo and Numbersixvalverde who have won the Aintree and the Irish Nationals in recent years. He is clearly a good jumper and his run in the Hennessy confirms he can mix it with the best indeed, he beat top chasers like Barbers Shop and Gone To Lunch on that run. VC Bet have slashed him to the 20/1 mark for the 2010 Grand National which if he maintains his form is looking like excellent value a few months ahead of the race.

Another potential runner for the 2010 National is The Package who ran a blinder at Cheltenham last week to win the Neptune Investment Management Chase. It was an assured performance from The Package to win the same race that Mon Mome did in 2008, and we all know what Mon Mome did at Aintree in the Grand National. At this stage there is no official word he will take his chance at Aintree but a few firms have priced him up at 25/1 for the win in the National should he take his chance.
