Grand National 2010 Entries Close with 112 Runners

The Grand National Entries for 2010 have closed with 112 declarations made which in fact is the lowest number for a decade, we are set for a classic race with all the main protagonists holding their ground as expected. We are likely to see the past three winners of the race taking their places at Aintree once again with Silver Birch, Comply Or Die and Mon Mome all carry entries.

Paul Nicholls is still trying to win his first Grand National win despite years of trying and he has a strong hand at this stage, Tricky Trickster is the market leader for the Champion Trainer and he can be backed at 16/1 for the race with VC Bet. Big Fella Thanks is another Paul Nicholls horse with great chances after coming 6th last year and he is set for another crack in 2010, he is a year further on in his development and is attracting a lot of attention from punters. As expected Mouse Morris has entered 20006 Gold Cup Winner War of Attrition into the Aintree showpiece for what is going to be his final race before a well earned retirement, he is set to be well backed with each/way punters and is capable of putting up a strong challenge.

Irish Grand National Winner Niche Market is another with an entry with his connections already waxing lyrical about his chances, he is an ideal type for the long distance and has been in good form this term which means he deserves serious consideration. If he can get to Aintree on form and fit then he will have good claims for the win in what is looking like one of the most open Nationals for many years.
