Albertas Run Out Of Grand National At Latest Declaration Stage

The big news this week surrounding the 2010 Grand National is that Albertas Run will miss the race after he was scratched at the latest declaration stage. We have seen 23 of the contenders removed from the entry list for the Aintree showpiece with 75 horses now left in the frame for the big race. Albertas Run had a great run at Cheltenham recently when winning the Ryanair Chase but he will now skip the Grand National.

It has been confirmed though that he will run at Aintree in the Grand National meeting with either the Totesport Bowl or the Melling chase now the target for Albertas Run. The weights remained the same despite Albertas Run being scratched with fellow top weights Madison Du Berlais and Notre Pere standing their ground in the field. One that now looks likely to take is chance at Aintree is Chief Dan George who was another who performed well at the Cheltenham Festival. He won the William Hill Trophy at the Festival and has been cut in the Grand National Odds as a result, Chief Dan George can currently be backed at a good looking 33/1 with Boylesports to win the National.

Another possible runner who has been attracting support in the betting is Cant Buy Time who may take his chance for Jonjo O'Neill. He ran well at Cheltenham also when second in the Supreme Novices Hurdle and connections are now deliberating over his Aintree participation with the National a real option. One thing that now looks certain is that we will get a full field of 40 for the Grand National on April 10th with only a few likely to pull out before the race leaving those between 40 and 50 on the entry list facing an anxious wait.
