We have seen two in and two out this morning as the final 40 for the Grand National tomorrow are now known. Mr Pointment and Abbeybraney are the ones to withdraw leaving Royal Rosa and Cerium to take their places in the line-up. Silver Birch the 2007 winner was the first reserve but connections have decided to run him in the Topham Chase later on this afternoon.
Cerium and his connections are especially pleased to enter the race after he came in an impressive 5th place last year. He surprised many with that run last year and may get round once again in 2010 so has to have each/way claims. Cerium can currently be backed at 50/1 with Paddy Power to win the National, that may prove good value for an place punt even if he lacks the class needed to win the race. Davy Russell will take the ride on Cerium with Trainer Paul Murphy bullish about his chances of going well and looking forward to tomorrow. Royal Rosa on the other hand has less of a chance of featuring at the top of the market but is by no means a mug for Howard Johnson. Meanwhile at the top of the betting it is still Big Fella Thanks who is the favourite for the win and he is set to go off as the well backed favourite tomorrow afternoon.
