Tony McCoy put Butlers Cabin asleep out the back and never got in any sort of blow and that surely was the intention of the O'Neill camp who know that his target this year is the Grand National in April. This is something that really needs to be looked at as he was never ridden to have a hard race and his odds of 11/1 for this race were irrelevant.
There is a very clear trend for the preparation of Grand National entries and that is to run them over hurdles to protect their Chase mark or run them over distances that are way to short in order that there is little chance that their trainers can be called into the stewards room.
We believe that every Grand National runner should have to run 2 races at 3 miles or more in the 3 months leading up to the Grand National in order to qualify.
