Grand National Result 2008

It was Comply Or Die who triumphed in the 2008 Grand National with an impressive display of jumping. Comply Or Die had set off as 7/1JF for the race and all those punters were dancing with joy as he pulled away from the pack after the last fence. It was a textbook performance from the horse as he not only jumped well but he stayed with ease coming round The Elbow. Comply Or Die was kept in contention throughout the race by jockey Timmy Murphy who produced a flawless riding display to the dismay of the bookmakers who were hit hard by the Joint Favourite winning the race.

It was King Johns Castle who came in second and he produced a brave performance before just being out-stayed by Comply Or Die. The JP McManus trained Grey jumped really well and stayed impressively and many observers were slightly surprised by his excellent showing as he started the race at 20/1 with the bookmakers.

Snowy Morning produced a really good display for a young horse in finishing third and he will no doubt be back in 2009 for a real good crack fitness depending. Slim Pickings again produced a good performance after finishing third in 2007 it was a similar story this year as his challenge faded slightly when push came to shove.

Tony McCoy was on board Butlers Cabin and was travelling comfortably and vying for the lead before falling at Becher’s once again as the National once again eluded the luckless McCoy.
