Grey horses have developed something of a magical status when it comes to Grand National betting with thousands of casual punters backing them each season on the morning of the big race. The more casual punters out there are naturally drawn to the attractive greys in the field as they are normally outnumbered by a big majority but it has to be said that they do have a terrible record in the race. No grey has won the race for over 50 years while only two have ever won it, nevertheless there will be plenty of money for the 2012 grey runners.
Current Aintree Grand National 2012 Win Odds
Potential grey runners for 2012 include the likes of the Gordon Elliot trained Chicago Grey who is a class act on his day and the excellent Silver By Nature who will be a massive danger if the ground comes up soft. Although there has been no recent grey winner of the National there have been some good runs with the likes of King Johns Castle and Suny Bay being placed over the past 20 years. As long as the Grand National continues, there will always be plenty of attention on the grey runners despite their woeful record in the race and as we get ready for 2012 the key contenders will be featured.
