The Sefton Novices Hurdle is a firm fixture on Ladies Day at the Grand National Festival and it is one of the highlights of the meeting, novice hurdles will compete over 3 miles as they look to win one of the biggest races of the season. Previous winners of the Sefton Novices include Black Jack Ketchum and Chief Dan George who both went on to achieve bigger and better things later on in their careers.
It is common place to see horses from the Albert Bartlett Novices Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival head to Aintree for the Sefton Hurdle so that does ensure we always get a good standard for the race.
